The Mexicola Grande is a consistent bearer of dark colored fruit with outstanding flavor. Rich buttery taste.
Thin, tender skin. Larger fruit with smaller pit than regular Mexicola. Ripens August to October.
It is one of the most cold hardy varieties, hardy to the mid 20°'s. Prefers well draining soil.
Plant in a container if you need to be able to move under cover during extreme winters.
Shipped potted in soil to ensure the best possible start when planted in yard or garden. Box size nearly five feet tall.

This variety is a consistent bearer of dark colored fruit with thin, tender skin and outstanding nutty flavor. It is one of the most cold hardy varieties. Ripens August-October. Hardy to the mid 20°'s. They prefer light, frequent waterings and do best in soil with good drainage. This variety is the best selling one for me here locally.

It was a couple of years ago actually when I bought this for my Mother for Mother's Day. It arrived in plenty of time considering I ordered too close to the day, I give it that. I can't really say if it was the seller's fault, the plant itself, my Mom, or our ground, but the poor thing didn't last for a couple months or so. There was just a lot of factors involved to not point fingers at. It arrived nicely with instructions and only a few leaves had fallen. Perhaps, I'll try again with a different plant, but the way the weather is going wacky on us, I don't think any time soon. I would suggest to give it a try and see if it works out for you.
